tftp server question wit pix

I am a little confused on how to upgrade the pdm... cisco states they no longer support tftp softare...

if the pix firewall has a tftp server why do i need software.... can't i set up the pix as a tftp server and copy tftp flash the pdm.bin file to upgrade pdm? or does a laptop/computer need to be the tftp server?

Where have you read that about tftp support?

The PIX never has had a tftp server. You must use a tftp, http or https server for updating the OS or the PDM. The last two methods are only available in latest versions.
