Throughput via pix 515E firewall

We have a setup as follows:

There is a 3rd party VPN box which is connected to internet and we have firewall(PIX515E) doing NAT and connecting to a LAN behind. The users on this LAN use 3rd party VPN client to connect to the VPN server on the other side of the firewall using IPsec (DES). The VPN tunnels are established and there are 100-150 users connected to the corporate network behind the VPN server. However over a period of time the response comes down drastically. But if the remote LAN users disconnects the VPN session and reestablishes the response time is better.

Has this got anything to do with the FW PIX 515E config

Re: Throughput via pix 515E firewall

PIX FW could be causing this , just like any other device in your network. you need to try to eliminate the possible devices. SYSLOG from PIX should indicate something. Also, the interface statistics may give you further inforatmion.

Thanks
