throughput

I'd like to understand how is calculated the throughput of the

pix firewall... depends on the interfaces's speed?

for example the throughput of the 535 is 1 Gbps (with or without Gb interfaces)?

thank's in advance.

Graz.

Re: throughput

I assume that you are asking how to calculate interface utilization. If this is the case then you can use an snmp tool such as MRTG to return the results.

Re: throughput

Hi,

thanks, but really i'd like to know how throughput is determinated and if

the type of interface is important.

For example Cisco says that the PIX 535 has a 1Gbps of throughput... but with FE interface o Gb interface? or it isn't important?

thank's

graz.

Re: throughput

Obviously Fast Ethernet is limited to 200Mb/s of throughput.

To get to 1Gb/s of throughput you need multiple interfaces, or a GigaBit Ethernet interface.
