Unable to communicate with sensor via console/telnet 'write sector' error

Messages on sensor console indicates 'write sector' error, and that umount /usr and fsck are required (not the result of a shutdown command).

However, I am unable to get sensor to respond to login or any commands.

Is there any way to resolve this without having to power down and reboot?

Our sensors are 4230 at 3.0(5)S20. Thanks.

I believe that you will have to power down the box. After it reboots and you have run fsck, verify the amount of disk space available with the 'df -k' command.

A belated thank you for responding to my question!! It is good to be able to check with an expert, to ensure that we have tried and checked everything possible. Thanks again.
