Re: Unable to contact the IDS via https

Hi Oliver,

It seems that you have 3.x sig on this sensor. What if you go into option 6 first and go through the prompts of Org name, Id, hostname, etc. At one point it should prompt you to select YES or NO for the question, Do you want to use the Web for management.

Say YES to that and then try.

Thanks,

yatin

Re: Unable to contact the IDS via https

that option does not exist in number 6. Do we manually have to start the webserver?

What version of software are you running?

What type of IDS sensor is this?

Re: Unable to contact the IDS via https

Console into your IDS. Ensure you log in using root or su. Type sysconfig-sensor. Enter option 5 "Access Control List". Ensure that the computers you wish to manage the IDS from have thier IP addresses listed. If not listed, add them.

Re: Unable to contact the IDS via https

I have a similar problem. You need to upgrade your OS, to 3.1 at least. This will give you an option in the communications infrastructure to manage from the web.

however, after i upgraded to this OS, and said yes to this, I still cant manage it from the browser. The ids does have the cidswebserver running, but no port 80 or 443 running?? So Im stuck..
