UPD Encapsulation for VPN on PIX

When I use a PIX 515E (ver 6.2) as a VPN, will it do UDP encapsulation of the packets for IPSec. The reason is that we want to put the PIX acting as a VPN inside a DMZ (whick has a private address), for mobile users to connect to it from Internet.

Thankx,

Re: UPD Encapsulation for VPN on PIX

Nope, sorry. I heard 6.3 might have this feature, contact you local cisco account rep to find out more infomation on that. The pix will have to have a static public ip address either way, whether you do a 1 to 1 translation for this pix public or you put it on there manually. Your endpoint must be accessible from the internet with a public ip in order to terminate the tunnel on it. Now your clients as of right now will have to be the same way. Hope this helps.
