Updating of Sigs w/ 4.x & IDS MC

Under 3.x on the IDS sensor, I could just updated the signature set on the MC and it would then update the sensor. With 4.X on my sensor, I seem to have problems.. I finally wind up updating my sensor signatures manually, then have to delete it from MC and re-discover it in order for MC to recognize the new sensor signature set. Am I doing something wrong or missing step here?

Hi,

Various people have had problems updating signatures if you look around the forum.

I have found that if you are using the IDSM-2, you need to ensure you have an updated app and maintenance partition.

For appliance sensors and in general, first apply the update only to IDS-MC and don't select sensors. Then re-do the process after MC is updated and select the sensors.

I also found I had to do the same things as you if I tried to update the MC and select the sensors in one pass.

Is this a know issue (Cisco?)

Thanks... sat down and did the update to the .50 sigs this evening and it worked fine out of the box...
