Hi,
We have an issue regarding a software upgrade to our cisco asa 5510. The asa version is 8.0.4.
It is very strange, the remote user can connect via vpn to the asa, but trying to do an RDP session it fails. Telnet to port 3389 is ok. After downgrading again to asa version 7.2.4 it is working again.
I was looking through the bugs, but can't find anything regarding this issue.
Is this known issue?
Best regards
Jorg

8.0.4 is a early deployment release - are you surprised?
I suggest you keep to Major Deployment releases.

I've seen a similar issue in 8.0.4 recently - remote access user connects fine, basic ICMPecho, port scans & initial telnet connectivity works fine, however everything else fails to connect. Turned out that remote clients couldn't send packets greater than 98 bytes through the ASA, and hence even though the initial telnet onto a device worked, trying to run any command always failed.
As the previous poster said, stick with v7.x unless you really need the new features in v8.x.y
Regards,
