The CSA 4.5 releases are architecture releases where a major portion of the rule fragments were redone. You'll see more actions to chose from and rule that were un-tuneable (NetWorm) are now a series of rules to all the admin to modify thier behaviour to allow normal business operation.
CSA 5.0 made a number of improvements in event manageability and extended the toolkit with the addition of the SET action in a number of rule types.
Also read through the Installation guide for the release you chose to upgrade to. The ability to run parallel management centers on a single system will allow you to migrate your agents when you are ready.
