Upgrading from 6.2(2) to 6.3(*)

Hi there,

'

I have a really strange problem.

My pix 501 is currently working fine with the 6.2(2) software but I want to upgrade to 6.3(*).

When I upgrade to 6.3(1) the pix seems ok but after 10 minutes it needs a reload because it doens't work anymore. When I reload the pix everything is ok. But after 10 munites it stops again???

When I upgrade to 6.3(2) the software is forcing me to set the outside interface at 100mbit speed. Because the outside is max 10mbit is the pix still not working!!!

Who can help me.

Re: Upgrading from 6.2(2) to 6.3(*)

Hi -

I beleive this is a pix bug on PIX IOS 6.3.1 but has been fixed on PIX IOS 6.3.2

Sorry don't have the actual BUG-ID at hand to give you but do a search on www.cisco.com for your paticular problem.

Hope this helps --

Re: Upgrading from 6.2(2) to 6.3(*)

Thanks for your reply.

But I think the problem is the ethernet interfaces. On software 6.2(2) (working) the settings are:

Interface ethernet1 10FULL ( inside )

Interface ethernet0 10BASET (outside)

With the 6.3(*) software:

interface ethernet1 100FULL (inside)

Interface ethernet0 10FULL (outside)

Cisco is telling me the following:

network - Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX (inside)

network - Ethernet 10Base-T(outside)

With regards,

Bas van der Horst
