Using Alias comand for Webserver access internally

We used the alias command to access a server on our DMZ. The webpage we want to get to has java applets that run and connect to another server elsewhere on a server that sits on a network off of the inside interface. When using the alias statement - we can get to the webserver from the inside, and outside (webpage comes up) but the java applets do not then contact the server...Is there something else that needs to be configured?
