Using VPN3000 with Windows 2000 VPN L2TP/IPSec

Has anyone used the Windows 2000 VPN client (L2TP/IPSec) with the VPN3000 concencentrator?

Does it work better than Cisco's VPN client?

What are the advantages of Cisco's VPN client in comparison?

Re: Using VPN3000 with Windows 2000 VPN L2TP/IPSec

Hi,

It is definately possible to get the Win2000 L2TP/IPSec client to work with the CVPN3000 and the sample for doing this is present at: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/471/vpn3k_l2tp.html, although this is a doable solution but as all interoperabilities, you hit a couple of road-blocks before it actually starts working. As for why the Cisco VPN client is better, I guess it just has more features users can use which really help you be a better admin for your users, as they can use all the upcoming features which you can check out at:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/vpn/client/3_6/361_clnt.htm

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Aamir
