Will the upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2 require me to rebuild the server or is it an in place upgrade or my choice.
If inplace upgrade, will it remove all old components like cspm and replace with new?

Your choice really, in place upgrade is easiest because yes, it keeps all your old settings that way.
