hows the going lads,
We are about to purchase a new ASA 5505 but it will be behind a netopia DSL router . The netopia will be put into bridge mode and the vpdn configuration will be applied to the ASA.
However I have read that the VPDN commands has been replaced in 7.0 so my question is how do I go about connecting back across PPPOE without the VPDN command .
Any help is really appreciated.
Thanks.

As you have a ASA-5505, you must be running 7.2 code or later. PPPoE configuration was reintroduced in this version. Here is a link which explains how to configure ASA as a PPPoE client-

Hope that helps.

Note: PPPoE is not supported when failover is configured on the security appliance, or in multiple context or transparent mode. PPPoE is only supported in single, routed mode, without failover.
