I am in the process of setting up a 6-user VPDN (Cisco Secure VPN Client on each Laptop) to access the corporate LAN via the internet utilising the PIX 515 UR and ISP ROUTER(NON CISCO)

1. How do I test if it's working?.(connection and 3DES Encryption)

As long as you followed the steps in the user guide http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/pix/pix_v53/ipsec/ you should be up and running. Start off by checking your degugs “debug crypto ipsec sa” to see the IPsec negotiations of phase 2, “debug crypto isakmp sa” to see the ISAKMP negotiations of phase 1, and “debug crypto engine” to display the encrypted sessions.
