I have a VPN 3000 which needs to be reconfigured but I am getting no output from the console port. Is there a way to set factory defaults without console access ?

thanks

Hi

Did u try out different combination of port settings ?

you can use up this link to restore factory default settings in ur concentrator.

http://cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2284/products_configuration_example09186a008014c1ba.shtml

Use the option to force the code to load ignoring the config file.

yes I tried different settings for the console port. Until I can get console access I can't use the option from this url There is a reset button on the 3000 but it appears to have no effect.

thanks for the information

Hi Keith,

Silly question - are you using the correct console cable for the vpn3000?

Cathy

not a silly question. I have tried various cables and none appear to work. The specification for the console cable is a standard RS232.

thanks
