VPN 3000 Series support for SSL VPN Client (SVC)

Hi,

We have currently deployed VPN 3060's in our network to support VPN clients. We are considering to start supporting SSL VPN Clients. (not WebVPN - Clientless). I'm trying to find how many concurrent SVC's supported by VPN 3060.

In Concentrator Product data sheets they have limits for IPSec users (5000) and WebVPN Clientless (500). But they haven't mentioned a number for SVC.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Nadun

Hello Nadun,

The number of SVC connections will be the same as Web VPN connections... I mean, both of them technically are the same.. with SVC, you will use an additional client (which will be downloaded from the concentrator) when accessing the webvpn portal (https page).. with webVPN clientless, this SVC client will not be downloaded. The baseline for both these methods is SSL VPN or Web VPN.. thats it !!!!

Another difference is with SVC, you will be assigned an IP address from the concentrator, just like the VPN client model. Once u get an ip addr, u can accss any resource on the internal segment. with clientless VPN, there is no IP address. the concentrator works something like a proxy, forwarding the requests to the server..

Hope this helps.. all the best.. rate replies if found useful..
