VPN and problem with secondary interface

I have a 1760 router having only one fastethernet conneceted to another peer router to make a site to site vpn tunnel. The vpn is established perfectly .ping to peer router`s serial interface is successful. The actual communication would be from my private network to peer private network .I have created a secondary interaface on the my router`s fastethernet to make a private network. when i try to ping from my private network to peer router`s private network , the ping fails.

Kindly help me in this regard

Thanks and Any reply would be highly appreciated.

Re: VPN and problem with secondary interface

Check the peer router's routing table and be sure that it has entry for the network you just created. You could also run a debug ip icmp on both sides to see what's happening to the ping packets.
