VPN and XP

I have VPN groups set up in my PIX and send out the VPN client with the username and password to our clients who install it at home. The problem I am running in to is only with XP clients. They are having a lot of different problems connecting to our corporate network and getting their mail to work. Some are using Outlook and can receive mail but not send it, some are using the mail package provided by the ISP and have the same issues.

Are there known caveats with XP and VPN client 3.5.1? Is anyone else having any issues particularly with XP?

the "fixup protocol SMTP 25" causes problems with sending SMTP mail through VPN connections. Turn it off and it works fine.
