I want to connect to my corporate office from home. In our corporate office they employ Ravlin Firewall/VPN hardware. If I load an IOS with support for IPSec, can I configure a VPN tunnel through the internet to access my corporate LAN? Is it possible to configure a VPN between Cisco routers and Ravlin or other manufacturers equipment?
Ipsec is open-standards-based so technically it is possible to configure IPSec tunnels between Cisco IOS and other vendors products. Many features like XAUTH are not fully matured yet so you may have difficulty with cross-vendor functionality but basic tunneling should be fine.
