VPN between Cisco 877 and a 2801

Hi. I have a Cisco 2801 with a public IP address.

At a remote site i have a Cisco 877W.

I'd like to make a VPN tunnel between the two boxes.

Now, strictly speaking, infront of my 2801 is another 877, but its purley there for ADSL connectivity.

My question is... whats the best way of creating a VPN tunnel between remote site and head office:

1) Remote site 877w <--VPN--> 2801 Head office

2) Remote site 877w <--VPN--> 877--2801 Head office

And finally, does anyone know of any good documentation as I haven't got a clue how to make VPN tunnels :)

Thanks!

Huw,

You can create a L2L vpn using internet link, terminate the tunnel on the routers facing internet at each end .

There are quite few examples here, make sure the routers do support Ipsec.

Refer to Lan to LAN tunnels, or Ipsec router-to-router configurations.
