VPN Client 3.5.x and WinME Problems

One of our users lost all connectivity to the Internet after installing the VPN Client 3.5.x on his WinME system. I have tried it on my WinME system and it works OK.

The strange thing is it stops all traffic even before using the VPN Dialer, it seems to be cvpnd.exe (the VPN daemon) that stops the traffic.

Just for testing he installed 3.5.1 client and replaced cvpnd.exe with the 3.1 version (and rebooted). He could talk to the internet, but the VPN client wouldn't work.

V3.1 client works but doesn't have the built-in firewall, so I would like to get 3.5 or higher working.

Anyone had similar experience?

Did he uninstall the old client and rebooted before

installing the new client. It seems to be a failed install of the client altogether. You could manually clean out the client install, and then reboot and reinstall the new 3.5 client. Contact the TAC for guidance on this.
