VPN Client and firewall

I know this is a pretty dumb question but what ports on a pix does the vpn client need for outgoing. we do not allow every and anybody to go outbound through our firewall pure ip. i have non employee users visiting and it is requested to allow them to connect to their sites vpn from our internal net. they will be using the cisco vpn client to connect to a pix firewall. what ports do i need to open for this to happen.

Re: VPN Client and firewall

hello,

you have to open udp port 500 and 4500.

Port 4500 only needed if the firewall on the other side uses isakmp nat-traversal.

hope that helps

:-)
