VPN Client Connectivity Problems Over a DSL Line

We have recently set up a VPN for remote acccess by our field personnel. At one site we have connectivity through a DSL line. While we are able to access the internet we cannot connect through our VPN client dialer. We can ping our site with no problem.

We know that the problem is site-specific because we can take the lap-top computer to any other site and connect without a problem.

Our VPN log reports:

1 09:56:19.718 06/07/02 Sev=Warning/3 DIALER/0xE330000C

GI get status callback timed out.

We do have some line noise on the DSL due to a radio tower nearby but our phone company (Verizon) says that since we can access the internet we should be able to access our VPN.

Has anyone had VPN problems due to RF interference on their DSL line?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: VPN Client Connectivity Problems Over a DSL Line

I don`t know about RF interference on DLS line, but since you have internet connection without problem than the physical line should have no problem also.

I think, you can try to debug the VPN dialer and from the result you may be able to pinpoint the problem on creating a tunnel to the Concentrator. Try to set the debug level of IKE on Log Viewer from "Low" to "High".
