VPN Client to 3030 Concentrator and use of SMS

We have been using a 3030 Concentrator for over a year, providing remote access for a limited number of employees. We want to open up our capabilities so that more users have wide functionality while working from home. One requirement we have is the need to update applications on the desktop or laptop. We presently do this almost completely via Microsoft SMS pushes from server to desktop. I have been told that the Cisco VPN Client software is not compatible with SMS. Indeed, our tests show that it is highly incompatible. Supposedly, there may be SMS capability within the VPN software beginning Q2 of 2003, according to Cisco TAC engineers. Does anyone have any further information regarding this? Have other organizations run into the problem of software updates and pushes to their remote users using VPN Concentrators? What solutions have they found?

Any input regarding this would be greatly appreciated

Re: VPN Client to 3030 Concentrator and use of SMS

What exactly are the problems that your tests show? VPN is (should) be) totally transparent to any TCP/IP, etc. sessions.

I know of one company that pushes software out to clients using MS Access and home grown software, but not SMS.
