I have several questions about the VPN client.

Once the VPN system is configured, how does a remote user get the security key? Also, how secure is the remote users system? Most of them will be using DSL or cable at home. What's to prevent someone hacking that users home system and accessing my network

The key is exchanged when the tunnel negotiation happens (securely) and the remote user has to enter his username/password pair to establish the tunnel. It’s as secure (or more so) than dial-in remote access.
