I dont know of too many ISPs who do firewalling for you. Its up to the individual to do the firewalling themselves. As long as all IP traffic is routed to you and youre configured properly, it should work fine with no action at your ISP. Youll need to configure your router and the other end of the VPN to build an encrypted tunnel. Setup a split tunneling access-list on both routers to direct traffic destined to the respective remote network through the encrypted tunnel and all other traffic to the Internet. Good Luck!
