I currently have a Frame-Relay connection between two sites. At one site I want to isnatll an ADSL card in the router and establish an Internet connection, and I already have a leased at the other site to the Internet.

I basically want to configure a VPN connection from one site to the other when the Frame-Relay connection fails.

I am currently running EIGRP between the two sites.

Any ideas as if this is even a valid solution? Any comments would be grateful.

Hi,

On easy way to do this is to create a GRE tunnel.

If you loose the FR, you will lose the route(EIGRP) and the packet will flow toward the default gateway(your internet link). On your two internet gateway, create a ugly route to the other network using the tunnel interface as the next up. Put a crypto map on the outbound interface and encrypt GRE packets.

There is many way to do what you want, depending on your network config. I m sure you ll want to use GRE somewhere in your design. The tunnel can even always be up with bad EIGRP value on it.
