VPN - Internet stops working

Hello,

We have a Pix firewall here which has VPN configured (PPP)

Once connected to the VPN, I can access network resources w/o any issues. The only problem is that I can't get to the outside and access internet websites.

Is this normal? Or is there something mis-configured?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, that is normal unless you have split tunneling configured.

Has anyone run in to any issues with the split tunneling configured? I know it's for security reasoning but when individuals are on the network locally, they're still exposed to the internet and all the garbage out there.

I still tend to agree that it should be left the way it is, i'm just looking for more concrete evidence on the disadvantages of enable split tunneling.
