VPN/IPX

Client has VPN configuration on a PIX 515. They are using the cisco VPN client 3.6.3a. They have allowed for access to a specific inside subnet but are only seeing the win2k server not novell. The client pc has a novell client installed. Does a novell network number need to be assigned on the inside pix interface in order to see the novell network or is there some other config missing on the pix for novell? The server is running NW5.1 so it still uses IPX for client authentication.

Re: VPN/IPX

Hi,

The PIX doesn't handle IPX. You will need to configure NW5.1 server for IP as well.

You could tunnel the IPX traffic through the PIX by using a GRE tunnel but the client would need a device/router with that feature.

This would look something like:

[your router]---------GRE Tunnel---------------[clients router]
