I am having the same issue with The Cisco VPN Client as well
We are using version 4.0.4 (B)
My Windows 2000 machine connects and tunnels with no problems at all however my XP machines will not connect appropriately. Is there a service that is blocking the connection? I have disabled the Windows Firewall settings and failed to connect. I also tried disabling my Symantec services and failed to connect. Last but not least I have verified my Group user name and password information
Thanks!

the issue maybe related to software firewall running on the company laptop.
