VPN slows IP over the LAN considerably.

We have installed VPN onto a Windows 98 machine, which has the following setup in Network Properties

IBM Token-ring PCI Network Card

TCP/IP

Microsoft Client

Since installing this, IP is about 10-15 times slower over the network, there is no problem using NetBeui, I have also installed this on my machine with the same effect, so it does seem to be the VPN software, I assumed that the MaxMTU settings in the NetTrans key in the registry may have an effect, but I have had no luck there, does anybody have any ideas? Please??

Often times complex troubleshooting issues are best addressed in an interactive session with one of our trained technical assistance engineers. While other forum users may be able to help, it’s often difficult to do so for this type of issue.
