VPN Tunnel with DSL or Frame

I am using a 1751 router to create a VPN tunnel with a 3000 concentrator. Can you create the tunnel with DSL or does it have to be a Frame or higher. Is there anything to look out for when you are setting it up.

Re: VPN Tunnel with DSL or Frame

In short, yes you can.

But its somewhat of a loaded question. Depends what you are running over the VPN. Its a question of bandwidth really and only you will know what your requirements are.

Then you need to think about encryption which will be an additional overhead. If the bandwidth you can get with DSL is not sufficient for your requirements then FR may be your only option. You will probably need a good justification for the leap in cost from DSL to FR.

But in essence both can be done with this model it just depends on the WIC you install.

As when designing anything, ensure your requirements are well defined. Its difficult fitting in retrospecitively aspects that should have been considered from day one.

Regards

Steve
