VPN3030 - Using the 3 Ethernet Cards

Hi,

The VPN3030 has 3 ethernet cards called, public/untrusted, dmz and private/trusted. I would like to confirm if I can use both public and DMZ to end VPN, IPSEC and PPTP Tunnels.

In other works public and DMZ interfaces have the same funcionality?

Thanks & Regards

Pedro

Re: VPN3030 - Using the 3 Ethernet Cards

Hi,

you can terminate VPN on both DMZ and Public, thas true, but you can't make TWO interfaces marked as Public at the same time, that basically leaves you using one interface (at a time) when you are trying IPSec NAT Transparency, though IPSec(ESP) connections work fine to any interface(doesn't requires it to be marked as public).

Thx

Re: VPN3030 - Using the 3 Ethernet Cards

Hi,

Thanks. It will work! I am going to use one interface, DMZ, to finish PPTP or VPN tunels for local, no NAT, wireless lan access.

The public will be for Internet access VPNs.

Thanks a lot

Pedro
