WebVPN & OWA - Never times out

We are using IE6, WebVPN, and OWA with the "Premium Client" option. We have our WebVPN group setup with a 30 minute idle time-out.

Before we had an OWA time-out, you could walk away from your OWA/WebVPN session for hours, come back, and it was still active. That's because OWA keeps polling the server for new mail every 2 minutes, thus keeping the session alive.

We tried setting an OWA time-out of 15 minutes. Our hope was that after OWA logged the user off, then the WebVPN idle timer would start. But unfortunately we got the same result -- hours later the WebVPN session is still active. If you happen to click on anything in your OWA mailbox you would get the OWA login box, indicidating it did indeed time-out. But unfortunately even after OWA times-out, it still polls the server every 2 minutes. So the WebVPN connection never goes idle.

Aside from turning off polling on OWA (or setting the poll time really high) is there any way around this? It seems OWA should stop polling once you've been timed-out, but apparently it never knows.

This does not happen with the Basic Client (which doesn't poll), but we'd like to use the Premium Client.
