I have two pix515E,now I want the two pix515 can failover eachother,so I have a ethernet2's dedicated link for failover.E0 is outside interface and the e1 is intside interface.

Now if e0 get down ,failover will work?

And when if the link between two pix515s' e0 is down but the interface statue is up (for example ,I close the keepalive, the interface will also up ),in this case ,the failover will also work ?

please help me ,thank you !

Hi ..

1.- if one of the interfaces of the active PIX is down then failover will ocurr.

2.- If the dedicated interface for Failover failed .. then both PIXes could become Active. this is why it is advisable to use a dedicated switch for the Failover connection .. so the communication between their Failover interface is stable and can't be affected another switch failure whihc interconects the other interfaces

Please rate if it helps
