which type of certificate do I need for PIX?

Hi,

I want to deploy certificate at PIX for IKE negotiation. In the Cisco dokumentation it is not mentioned which type of certificate I need.

Should this be a server oder a user certificate just like a personal email certificate? Which type certificate should I use for pix to pix vpn tunnel and which for vpn clients?

Thanks

Rickan

Re: which type of certificate do I need for PIX?

You can use microsoft CA, you can use verisign CA for certificates, entrust.

Here is a sample for you: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/471/configipsecsmart.html

although you do not need to use smartcards, like the sample.

Regards,
