I understand that there are 2 type of vpn client.
(cisco secure vpn client as well as cisco vpn client).
Can anyone tell me, when is the right situation to use these different client? Any platform dependency?

Use the Cisco Unity VPN client which is based on the client 3.x platform. It would work with IOS (12.2.8T and above), the PIX (6.1 above) and VPN 3K.
The old Cisco Secure VPN client is only on IOS, and runs only on NT/95/98. While the new one, runs on Linux, Solaris, Windows and Mac OSX.

Not to be a stickler for detail but it's the Cisco Unified VPN Client:-)

How well does it handle Entrust certificates ? WIll it renew a certificate automatically before it expires ?
