Our customer is trying to establish a 10G connection over DWDM between two ASR9k.
We saw that there is an optical license for G.709 and FEC.
« The Advanced Optical Line Card (A9K-ADV-OPTIC-LIC) License enables G.709 and FEC on a per-line-card basis. This license may be used on line cards with part numbers A9K-2T20GE-L, A9K-2T20GE-B, A9K-2T20GE-E, A9K-8T-L, A9K-8T-B, A9K-8T-E and A9K-16T/8-B. »
but our customer have A9K-4T-L line cards… which are not supported for IPoDWDM.
They will need only the DWDM connection without any FEC features. Is this possible on the low queue line cards and without the optical license ?
In a first test the ASR9k recognized the DWDM transceiver module on the low queue LC‘s but we couldn’t test it with trafic on it.
