Service policy on Cat 6509

Hi all,

I have a Catalyst 6509 with the s3223-ipservices_wan-vz.122-18.SXF14.bin image file and these modules:

Mod Ports Card Type                              Model              Serial No.
--- ----- -------------------------------------- ------------------ -----------
  1   48  48-port 10/100/1000 RJ45 EtherModule   WS-X6148A-GE-TX    SAL1224TQ3V
  5    3  Supervisor Engine 32 10GE (Active)     WS-SUP32-10GE-3B   SAL1222SFMW

Mod MAC addresses                       Hw    Fw           Sw           Status
--- ---------------------------------- ------ ------------ ------------ -------
  1  001d.70ee.b1e0 to 001d.70ee.b20f   1.6   8.4(1)       8.5(0.46)RFW Ok
  5  001e.be11.b528 to 001e.be11.b52d   1.5   12.2(18r)SX2 12.2(18)SXF1 Ok

Mod  Sub-Module                  Model              Serial       Hw     Status
---- --------------------------- ------------------ ----------- ------- -------
  5  Policy Feature Card 3       WS-F6K-PFC3B       SAL1222S2BH  2.3    Ok
  5  Cat6k MSFC 2A daughterboard WS-F6K-MSFC2A      SAL1222SALV  4.0    Ok

I'm trying to apply a MQC service policy to an interface in the output direction, but the error message "MQC features are not supported in output direction for this interface" appears.

This message appears both for 10/100/1000 and for TenGi ports.

Any Hints

Thank,

Alessandro

Re: Service policy on Cat 6509

Hi Alessandro,

QoS on Catalyst is different than QoS on router.

Please read this link and let me know if you have other question:  https://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SXF/native/configuration/guide/qos.html#wp1671507
