subcriber manager logging

Hi,

we are using SM 3.7 on Solaris 10.  /var/adm/messages logs are permanetly flooded with quota manager logs:

Nov 22 11:38:05 sm SM: [ID 702911 daemon.notice] Bucket 2 used quota = (95069-95069)= 0

Nov 22 11:38:05 sm SM: [ID 702911 daemon.notice] Bucket 1 used quota = (-12--12)= 0

Nov 22 11:38:05 sm SM: [ID 702911 daemon.notice] Bucket 2 used quota = (-11--11)= 0

Logging facility of SM is set to daemon.notice, which is not the best choice.

root@sm # grep logger /opt/pcube/sm/server/bin/umserverproc

          com.pcube.management.StartServer $SPECIAL_START_ARG $2 $3 $4 $5 $6 2>&1 |logger -t SM -p daemon.notice

Is there any way to stop printing those calculation, without changing the facility or syslog configuration?

Thank you.

Hello again

I confirmed that this behavior has been introduced from 3.7.0 and we should avoid

the unwanted message flood. This will be fixed via a Bug-ID CSCtw49784.

The message is printed every time a QM receives a Quota Status Indication from a SCE.

Unfortunately there is no way to stop flooding other than disabling the logger which

is not recommended...

Thanks,

Tomo

Hi Stefan,

In general it will be fixed in next SM release but there is a possibility

to be delayed depending on the priority.

If you need more detailed information about the bug including the fix plan,

you can contact to TAC.

Thanks,

Tomo
