Why the DS LED on my DPC3000 modem amber, not green?
I have Comcast High-Speed Internet. I just upgraded to their Blast! service yesterday, so I went to their office and swapped my Arris TM602G/115 telephony modem for a Cisco DPC3000 DOCSIS 3.0 one. I set the modem up with the help of a Comcast technical support representative over the phone. Everything seems to be working properly, but I quickly notice that the DS LED is Amber instead of Green, like the rest. According to the modem Installation and Operation Guide (pg. 28), the DS LED can illuminate Green or Amber: Green means normal operation; Amber means the modem has failed to go online channel bonded and has reverted to narrow band operation. So what does it really mean? I called back their technical support department and was told that I need to get their Ultra or Extreme 50 service in order for wide band (multiple channels) to be activated, and thus resulting in a "green" light being illuminated on the DS LED. However, I was told differently by the guy who upgraded me to Blast!. He said that Blast! supports DOCSIS 3.0 technology, and that the service is available in our area. Has anyone published a solution for this issue yet? I know there is one solution on the comcast forums. However, there is only one Engineer there that knows who to escalate this issue to to get the problem resolved. And it is not his job to do so.
Any help with DCP3008 Only bonding on one channel (Amber DS light) issue would be highly appreciated.
