1200 Series...Why will some MAC addresses not Authenticate

I am running a number of AP1200's with the same problem. There comes a point that as new MAC addresses are added to the AP, the will not authenticate. In one of the lines of the FAQ, I have read that it is only possible to enter up to 40 MAC addresses using the GUI. After this you must use the command line.

Upon investigating this, I am running into a problem withthe command line config where it has an encrypted password attached to it. I never entered a password. Upon de-crypting the password I have found that it is the same as the MAC address. When I enter the user MAC and password using the command line and look at the config, the passwords I entered this way are displayed in the un-encrypted format.

My bottom line question, after all the rambling is this, how do I enter MAC addresses correctly from the command line? Example...

username 0012f00658f1 password 7 0012f00658f1

username 0012f00658f1 autocommand exit

Correct?

Hi Terry

First, please use global command:

"service password-encryption"

And then, just try:

"username 0012f00658f1 password 0012f00658f1"
