Hello.

I am choosing between 802.11g 1231 access point and 1310-R brigde. Really I going to replace 1120b for new one AP for indoor use wireless clients access, anyway selection between 1231 and 1310 is price-independent.

1) What processor is used in? 1310? In 1231 seems used IBM PowerPC405 200 MHz. Can you please check this in sh ver?

2) Which device has better performance in average test conditions? Receiver sensitivity (from practice)?

3) Can anyone confirm that 1310 can do WPA2 with CCMP? According to feature nav. 12.3(8)JEA1 it can.

3) Am I right that 1310 bridge has 1231 functionality plus bridge mode? According again to feature navigator 1310 has much more useful features like traffic shaping/policing etc.

So just want to find out what device is better itself. Please advice, I'll appreciate this much. Any advices welcome! Thanks.

Sergey

Processor used is PowerPCElvis. In the access point mode, the 1310 supports both AES-CCMP and WPA2. In the bridge mode, the 1310 supports AES-CCMP but not WPA2 because WPA2 cannot be tested in the bridge modeRefer URL
