2602i SAP forwarding only some traffic

Hi everyone.

This is the first SAP 2602i I install as standalone, connected to a Catalyst 3850.

I configured 2 SSIDs on 2 different VLANs; however, when I connect to the s2_home ssid (didn't try the other one) only some traffic gets through the bridge. Specifically, the client (tried on pcs, iphones) can get an IP address, ARP resolution works but other traffic simply disappears.

A trace from the client and the c3850 shows packets are sent but never received.

The AP is  a AIR-SAP2602I-E-K9 with ios ap3g2-k9w7-mx.152-4.JB3a (config attached)

the switch port config is:

interface GigabitEthernet2/0/21

description prova ap apra

switchport trunk native vlan 5

switchport trunk allowed vlan 3,5,900

switchport mode trunk

I tried connecting the AP on another switch but it's the same.

Any hints?

Can you add this :

Switch#switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

!--- Configure the encapsulation on the switch port to dot1q.

then test agagin.

Hi Sandeep.

That command is not supported (does not exist) on the catalyst 3850 because it doesn't support ISL so the trunking protocol is always dot1q.
