I was wondering if there is any support or future support to be able to control handoffs ? Is there anyway to change the method, or the received signal strength thresholds, so that a client will always be connected to the strongest signal?
Is it true that 1200 APs have some sort of load balancing? So, that 2 or more APs in close proximity will balance the number of associations they have? Anyway of controlling this?
Load balancing is done with the wireless NIC. The NICs keep a table of all the information it gets from the AP's beacons, such as the percentage of signal strength, users, etc. To make sure that load balancing is taking effect, use Aironet Extensions on the AP itself.
