7.4.110 bricks 1131 in flex mode

Trying to figure out if I missed something in the release notes.

WiSM-2's upgraded from 7.0.235 to 7.0.240, then to 7.4.110 Sunday before Christmas.

1131 APs converted from IOS to LW back in the WiSM-1 days have been running H-REAP/FLEX just fine 'till now.

Problems first appeared in a building where I have five 1142 LWAPs and two older, converted 1131 LWAPs, all in flex mode.

Clients would associate to the 1131s and 802.1x authenticate fine, but they never get an IP address.  In this building I was fine disabling the 1131s, forcing clients to the 1142s.  That worked until I could replace the 1131s with 1142s.  While on the road to make the swap, I got a few more calls about 1131s and one 1242 with the same problem.  I had my co-workers switch them to local mode until I can figure out what's going on.

Is it that 1131s are supported at 7.4, but only in local mode?

Ideas?  Fixed in 7.4.121?

I still have about 90 1131s in service, not all in flex mode.  I expect to be getting more calls when people return from the holidays.

Thanks.

Make sure your 1131 Flex AP vlan mapping is accurate after the upgrade.

I can see a related but on the 7.4.110.0 release notes. But it is in "Terminated" status & cisco will not relese a bug fix code for this.

Symptom: Beacon loss in Cisco AP1130.

Condition: Cisco AP1130 in FlexConnect mode.

Workaround: None.

7.4.121.0, it is not mentioned (may be due to terminated bug)

I would suggest to open a TAC case & get proper feedback from them on your issue

Thanks!  VLAN mappings is the first thing I check.  I went as far as resetting to default and rebuilding from scratch before driving to the site.

Worked with TAC on this.  My TAC engineer provided this bug ID.

I also found this discussion

https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2242111

In my case 1131 and 1242 APs in flex mode, joined to WiSM-2's running 7.4.110.0 with native vlan set to 2 would not allow clients to get a DHCP adddress.

Unlike in the discussion linked above, I changed the native vlan on the switchports and on the APs.

rather than "Changing Native vlan to anything else than 2 fixes the issue. You can have Native VLAN2 on Switch, and anything else on the AP."

I also ran across one flex mode 1131 with native vlan 2 joined to a 5508 AP SSO pair running 7.5.102.0 that is not exhibiting the symptoms.

I have loaded up another 5508 with 7.4.121.0, but I have not been able to test anything on it yet.
