a/b/g card utilities?

I just received a couple of the a/b/g cards and see they have a new Aironet Desktop Utility (ADU) instead of the ACU. This doesn't include any site survey tools. Anyone know if any are expected?

Re: a/b/g card utilities?

Site survey utilities are no longer part of the client utilities. One reason is that most surveys will need to be done with the 'weakest' link device in the network, such as a barcode scanner, laptop with integrated antennas (usually lower performance than a cardbus or PCMCIA card antenna) or even a

wireless VoIP phone.

Also we recommend the use of a true site survey utility that includes the ability to display all known APs, and other clients, as well as provides

some other troubleshooting features. One such tool is the Airmagnet tool.

Presently today is a full blown wireless sniffer, with many tools, including a site survey tool. It will support the Cisco A/B/G card very shortly.

Airmagnet will be releasing a new site survey tool only in April this year, which will also support the Cisco A/B/G card.

ACU site survey utility still has its place of use. Iam surprised and sad that it is no longer being supported with 'g' cards(?). It was designed to test with cisco cards, not with barcode scanner, therefor I think its use is justified.
