Cisco 8500 controller's (software 184.108.40.206) datasheet clearly states Cisco AIR-LAP1242G series access point can join cisco 8500 controller. I am using Cisco AIR-LAP1242G software version (C1240-K9W8-M, 12.3(7)JA1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)) and IOS (c1240-k9w8-mx.ap_jmr3_esc.201204191421/c1240-k9w8-mx.ap_). I tried both console and web interface but Ap did not connect the Cisco 8500 controller.
We are normally using AIR-LAP1242G series Ap with Wism controller. AIR-LAP1242G APs connect to Wism Controller using DHCP option 43 and its also capwap compatible.
"3) Do a capwap events enabled while the ap joins - do you see anything ? If so post" I do not understand this one
We are also using AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9 with Wism controller. When I send AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9 series Ap to 8500 controller, it connects and works fine. But when I send to AIR-LAP1242G series AP, it do not connect to 8500 controller.

This is the start of a display filter cross reference between Wireshark and OmniPeek.
The 1st installment is a table of advanced filters. More filters will be added as time allows.

I have created a Powershell script to automatically add a Wireless Guest User on Cisco WLCs. (tested on 2500 Series)
The script should be completely self explanatory.
