AIR-LMC350 - PCMCIA operation

I have an AIR-LMC350 that I can't seem to get working. I also have a couple AIR-PCM350's and they work fine and the docs seem to indicate that they all use the same driver. I've tried this card in laptops running XP, 2000 and Linux.

One thing I wonder about is that this card was originally part of an AIR-PCI350. As I understood it, that just had the PCMCIA card oin a PCMCIA slot in a PCI slot in a computer. Perhaps that complicates things more. Does anybody know?

Re: AIR-LMC350 - PCMCIA operation

Although the PCI card has an LMC card on it the LMC card that is on the PCI card can not be used on its own as a LMC card.

The reason for this is it runs a different boot block version ( can be seen on the status page of the ACU) This boot block version tells the LMC card to use some of the circuitry on the PCI.

The main reason for this is the PCI bus and PCMCIA bus run at very different speeds, the other reason is it will compensate for the loss of the antenna connectors on the PCI card.

If you can get it working you will see lower throughput and poor RF performance.

The boot block version can only be changed in the factory. The only option is to use this card on the PCI adapter and to see your reseller and order a LMC card.

Thanks, David....not exactly what I wanted to hear. At least I can stop wasting time on it now;)
